The Department of Art at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Drawing/Painting for academic year 2011/2012. Appointment will be as a contract assistant professor. The initial term of this appointment is academic year 20011/12, beginning 29 August 2011 and concluding 27 May 2012. Renewal of this appointment may be possible for an additional term or terms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) MFA in Art or extensive professional recognition and experience, (2) Practicing artist in drawing and/or painting or interdisciplinary use of drawing and painting, (3) Evidence of an active exhibition record and demonstrated excellence in and recognition of dynamic ongoing creative research on a regional, national and/or international level.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One to three years university or college-level teaching experience beyond graduate teaching assistantships.
Candidates will be evaluated according to the overall quality of their academic preparation and professional experience in drawing/painting; evidence of commitment to teaching and skills as a teacher; and strength of recommendations.
