Job Description: Are you creative? Do you like to design posters and other publicity materials? Responsibilities include design, preparation for printing, and timely delivery to the printer of the quarterly Library newsletter, Library Lights. The Graphic artist also creates promotional materials such as posters and bookmarks to highlight Library events. We are looking for a Graphic Artist who is able to work independently, yet gets along well with others, has the ability to meet deadlines, and is able to produce visually appealing designs. Terra Foundation for American Art


Summer 2011 Grants Internship

Established in 1978, the Terra Foundation for American Art works to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of historical art of the United States. The foundation has made it a priority to create an international dialogue that is lively and relevant, encouraging new perspectives that interpret American art in dynamic ways and making opportunities for engagement that resonate with individuals around the globe. Implicit in the activities of the Terra Foundation is the belief that art has the potential both to distinguish cultures and unite them.

Position:
Summer Internship, Grants Program
Reports to: Program Officers, Grants Manager, and Program and Communications Associate
Duration: JuneAugust for 3 days a week (start and end dates are negotiable)
Stipend: Modest stipend available
Key Responsibilities Could Include:
·        Assist with the development of the Civil War in Art web-based teaching resource, including writing object descriptions, facilitating the summer professional development/curriculum development workshop for teachers, and editing lesson plans
·        Learn how to use the open-source software Omeka in order to enter and edit content for the Civil War in Art website
·        Help prepare for and facilitate the Terra Teacher Lab summer institute
·        Assist with Terra Collection Initiative projects, including research, writing, and rights and reproductions
·        Learn how to use the grant management software GIFTS
·        Write select sections of grant dockets and enter content into GIFTS
·        Assist with the exhibition grant program evaluation project meant to both streamline past data and set up procedures to track incoming data
·        Audit the grant files in anticipation of the annual financial audit
·        Enter data and refine mailing list database in GIFTS
·        Assist with facilitation of usability testing on the foundation’s website
·        Learn how to use the foundation’s website content management system
·        Help maintain the foundation’s website, including the events calendar and Chicago page
Qualifications:

·        Must have completed a masters degree, preferably in the history of art
·        Must possess a strong interest in American art, preferably the nineteenth century and/or Civil War-era due to the nature of current projects
·        Must have strong writing and communication skills

Design Sales & Film internships

Recover Records is looking for sales assistants, graphic designers, and film documenters.
   
As a sales assistant, interns will learn how to manage and promote multiple revenue streams including a record Label, a Producer/Engineer/A&R, and other music related companies by using Social Networking sites and other forms of social media.
   
Graphic design interns will get hands on experience working with a company that has a constant need for an assortment of purpose driven imagery.
