MidVentures is holding an event this summer called TechWeek (techweek2011.com) and are looking for talented graphic design and marketing students/recent graduates to help produce various promotional materials leading up to the event. TechWeek is a week-long festival, conference and expo celebrating the technology and interactive communities. Working with the TechWeek team will give students the opportunity to engage with these growing communities as well as gain valuable design experience.
There are currently two unpaid intern positions available:
- Roles and responsibilities: Will work closely with the TechWeek Design Lead and the company President to produce print and web advertising, brochures, and merchandise. Interns will also play a large role in the design process as a whole, from concept to pre and post production.
- Preferred skills: Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator as well as experience with vector graphics, print design, and layout design. Web skills are not required, but Wordpress, HTML and CSS experience is a plus.
- Roles and responsibilities: Will work closely with the TechWeek team to distribute event information through social media channels.
- Preferred skills: Proficiency in Twitter, Facebook and viral marketing strategies. Knowledgeable in current social media trends including Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Also familiar with social media tools such as Hootsuite and Tweetdeck. Email marketing is not required but is a plus.
Students are required to submit examples of past work (an online portfolio or an attachment no larger than 5MB), a resume, and any other relevant material in order to be considered for the internship.
